Jacquelin Cangro’s first book is The Subway Chronicles: Scenes from Life in New York, a collection of essays about riding the New York City subway system. She’s working on her next book about America’s most iconic places, titled Finding America: One Woman’s Pilgrimage. She loves learning more about her country through her travels. She also recently finished her first novel.

Jacquelin lives in New York City. She thinks the best movie ending ever is Cinema Paradiso. Her new favorite television show is Glee, but after all this time she has to find out how Lost ends. She keeps a stack of books near her bedside that she’s been meaning to read. Right now she’s reading Olive Kittridge by Elizabeth Strout. The red velvet cake from Cake Man Raven makes her very happy; if you’re ever in New York City, get yourself a slice. You won’t be sorry. She believes in compassion toward animals and avidly supports organizations like Best Friends Animal Society. Check them out, won’t you?
